Statistics. The export of Latvian goods for the five months increased by 8.2%.
According to the Central Statistical Bureau, for the first 5 months of this year, Latvia exported goods worth of 4.404 billion euros, which is 8.2% or 332.4 million euros more than in the same period in 2016, and imported - by 5.371 billion euros, Which is an increase of 11.3% or 543.8 million euros.
Meanwhile, in May, Latvia exported goods by 936.896 million euros, which is 9% or 77.3 million euro more than in April and 9.2% or 79.1 million euro more than in May 2016. In turn, it imported goods worth 1.146 billion euros, which is 12.1% or 123.9 million euro more than in April and 12.5% or 127 million euro more than in May last year.
The most important trade partners for exports to the European Union in May were Lithuania (17.6% of the total volume), Estonia (11.5%), Germany (7.2%) and Sweden (6.4%), and the most important partners Import - Lithuania (20.5% of the total volume), Germany (11.2%), Poland (9.1%) un Estonia (8.4%).
The most important partner in trade with third countries was Russia, exports to which in May amounted to 8.2%, and imports - 6.1%.
